Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

Blackout Intelligence OS is a professional open-source intelligence (OSINT) platform. Because intelligence tooling can be misused, this policy sets clear boundaries. It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses the Service.

Lawful, professional use only

You may use the Service only where you have a lawful basis and a legitimate, professional purpose — for example authorised investigations, due diligence, fraud prevention, journalism, security research, or trust & safety work — and always in compliance with applicable law, including data protection and privacy law.

Prohibited activities

You must not use the Service to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, dox, or endanger any individual.
  • Enable domestic abuse, coercive control, or the tracking of a person without lawful authority.
  • Discriminate against or profile individuals on the basis of protected characteristics.
  • Facilitate identity theft, fraud, blackmail, or extortion.
  • Circumvent access controls, scrape sources in breach of their terms, or breach the Computer Misuse Act.
  • Process special-category or children's data without a lawful basis and appropriate safeguards.
  • Resell or redistribute raw data in breach of source terms or applicable law.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure you have a lawful basis for every investigation and record it where required.
  • Verify results independently — OSINT data can be inaccurate or outdated.
  • Handle any personal data you obtain securely and delete it when no longer needed.
  • Comply with the terms of any third-party providers whose keys you connect.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected breaches and may suspend or terminate accounts, and report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities. We reserve the right to refuse service.

Reporting misuse

Report abuse of the platform to abuse@blackoutintelligence.co.uk.
